Guiding people to Intentional Community living

Intentional Communities goals should be

*    Demonstrate low impact, high quality lifestyles.

*    Reduce the burden of government by increasing neighborhood self-reliance.

*    Reverse the negative environmental social and economic impacts of current growth and development practices.

*    Model sustainable patterns of development in the industrialized world, to encourage developing communities to bypass our unsustainable patterns.

*    Showcase the talents and skills of those working toward a sustainable future.

*    Our beliefs are based on the creation of a new society free of violence, fear and sexual repression; with egalitarian, feminist principles, environmental healing and awareness; and a loving, supporting, and affectionate environment for our fellow brothers and sisters.

*    Non-secular; part of no organized religion, but spiritual. Home for a higher vibration level of thoughts that would empower us as co-creators and creators of our own eternal present.

*    Members are encourage to be open, vocal/verbal about their feelings and what is appropriate, tasteful, encouraged or not; and accepted in every individual or collective case.

*    To have honesty and open, spontaneous, transparent communication as part of our daily life and encouragement at all times by community members.

*    To agree to disagree sometimes; but also agree to resolve conflicts instead of holding and accumulating resentment to our family members. (Especially small ones that if forgotten lead to unconscious resentment).

*    To love and live responsibly and cooperatively with more than one person at a time.

*    To gather with all races, ages, spirituality, genders, sexual preferences, and accept them for what they are and not for how they look.

*    To practice loving touch (not necessarily sexual oriented), affection and pleasure which replaces and eradicates violence in order to create a more harmonious society.

*    To become self-sufficient; with organic gardens and CSA for the local community. Also where alternative forms of construction, (i.e. straw bale, earth ships, recycled materials, kivas, etc.) healing (hands on, visualization, meditation, Qi gong, Yoga, free expression and dance, rebirth, co-counseling, regressions, self-actualization, NLC, etc) and relating to each other are used to heal the planet and live more lightly and simply with and from the earth and our surrounding environment.

*    To have a place where we have the option to deliver babies right at home with the help of midwives. Also a place where they can grow naturally and organically.

*    To have, support and encourage home schooling available for those who choose to use it.

*    To Care for each other and create meaningful, lasting and intimate connections.

*    To have a home where cooperation replaces competition, conformity and uptightness.

*    To create an atmosphere where we raise souls that are empathetic, lively, intellectually and emotionally, as well as spiritually.

*    To live in a place where art, creativity and sensitivity are part of our everyday life.

*    To have a home where communal meals are shared in a common dining/kitchen facility;( this guarantees the semblance of family life that we desire. It is our belief that cooking and eating together is one of the fundamental ways that groups create a sense of community; as well as singing together).

*    To be in a place where everyone has there own private space; weather a personal shelter or a room in any of the SLG's (small living groups).

*    SLG's will give further flexibility for small groups to get together and autonomously decide on issues like noise/quiet hours; pets or not, smoking or not, and compatibility of new members etc.

*    To have a perpetual festival of love and zest for life, here and now.

*    To approach life as a series of sacred experiments; experiencing life as a spontaneous religion, a potent medium for the fulfillment of desires, the open evocation of Sacred Fun.

*    To love, support and encourage each other to reach our highest ideals, goals and dreams as individuals; therefore reaching our goals by osmosis of the community as a whole

*    Income and non-income sharing group(s). This is to insure diversity in the sense that we are attractive to people of all ages, incomes, social lifestyles, etc.

*    Clothing optional
