Our Federation works strictly from donations, we DO need money to pay for web page development, web pages server, domain registration, postage, computer equipment, sponsor seminars, translations, internet and local advertising, travel expenses, printed material, etc.  It is our goal to serve as a nexus between English speaking intentional communities and Spanish speaking countries.  We are located in the center of south America, an ideal location to serve Latin countries; but needless to say we are very short of funds to do all the work we would like to do; even a small donation from you, will go a long way towards helping the federation meets its goals.

So far we have created these web pages, which get viewed from all over the world, we have answered many emails from students throughout the worlds, who have been asked by their teachers to do papers and thesis on alternative ways of living, some have gone as far as producing several hundreds of pages of detailed documentation and graduating from college with thesis on eco-village living.  We have co-sponsored intentional community seminars at our local university, we have done one-day seminars for local government officials.  We have served on the advisory board of local consortium. We have started several internet forums, some that have over 500 members, but this is just the tip of the iceberg of what needs to be done. Though we have the disposition and knowledge of how to do it, we do NOT have the funds to do it.  Even fundraising takes startup funds and personnel, which we do NOT have.

There are only 2 intentional community federations, both in the USA and ONLY for the USA. (There is one named C.A.L.L. in Israel for the kibbutz AND WWW.GAIA.COM for eco-villages, which has a few pages in Spanish, and www.______.org  for Spain only)  NONE for over 880 million people in Central and South America.  The concept of an intentional community or eco-village is not foreign to Latin countries, but a federation to unite and promote the few intentional communities is.  There are very few communication channels available in Latin countries, specially since most of the population lives in poverty, therefore making it more difficult to find them and to help them join.

We have so far invested over $15,000 in cash from our personal savings to keep up the foundation in legal running status for the past 7 years, but so far we have only received $700 in donations. This is not taking into account the thousands of ours of work that each of us has invested without pay.  Our funding has ran out and if we do not receive additional donations, we will not even be able to pay for the web page domain registration this coming December.  Takes money to even make a phone call, to visit potential donors, to send mail, to even answer an email.

Here is an example of where and for what we desperately need a donation. You all know Apollo quite well, Apollo is one of the founders of our federation, he has been an active member of the board of directors of the Federation of Egalitarian Communities, he even appeared in the 2000 front cover page of the intentional communities directory, he was a very active member of the EastWind community for two years.  Apollo has been residing in Denmark for the past 4 years, due to the fact that he ran out of funds to continue donating all his time to our foundation.  He has continue to help as much as he can with computers from his local library and he has also help us with money, but in order for him to help us more he needs a notebook computer, at the time he is not able to afford the expense to buy one.  Working up to 3 jobs, he has little time left to go to the library to answer emails and to continue helping, he needs a notebook computer.  Please contact him and help him get one.

· Register our foundation in foreign countries to enable the reception of donations with tax deductible for the donor

· Once a year communities gathering in Ecuador

· Co-sponsor the once a year communities gathering in Bolivia

· Travel fund to participate in communities gathering

· Spanish printed material

· Improvement and translation of all web pages to Spanish

· Hire full time personnel for fundraising

· Hire full time volunteer manager

· Long distance telephone funds

· Funds for model eco-village for Ecuador poorest people

· Government educational campaign

Funding has become increasingly more difficult for project like ours in view of all the recent world catastrophes that have taken place.  The media puts a bias on where donations go.  Ours is a long-term solution approach which at the present time does not have a media focus, this is why it is so imperative that you help us out.
